Foster parenting may be the greatest yet most rewarding challenges you and your family will ever undertake on behalf of children in need. If you are able to give a child a stable and loving home environment you may want to consider becoming a foster parent.
Who is eligible to be a foster parent? To be a foster parent you must:
Be at least 21 years old
Be in good physical and mental health
Be able to meet your family's financial obligations
Have a stable family relationship
Have respect and caring for children and families
Have housing that provides a safe and healthy environment
Accept the temporary nature of foster parenting
Children and Youth Services conducts a home study and training for approval, ongoing support and training by experienced professionals and per diems for children placed.
