Foster parenting may be the greatest yet most rewarding challenges you and your family will ever undertake on behalf of children in need.  If you are able to give a child a stable and loving home environment you may want to consider becoming a foster parent.

Who is eligible to be  a foster parent?
To be a foster parent you must:

  • Be at least 21 years old

  • Be in good physical and mental health

  • Be able to meet your family's financial obligations

  • Have a stable family relationship

  • Have respect and caring for children and families

  • Have housing that provides a safe and healthy environment

  • Accept the temporary nature of foster parenting

Children and Youth Services conducts a home study and training for approval, ongoing support and training by experienced professionals and per diems for children placed.
